Worship
Worship is so much more than music. In fact, the music and teaching on Sunday morning is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to worship. It could be compared to the opening kickoff in the scope of an entire football game. Sunday morning "kicks-off" your worship for the rest of the week.
So how do we worship God when we're not in church? In his book, The Purpose Driven Life (published by Zondervan in 2002), Rick Warren reveals through Scripture that "anything you do that brings pleasure to God is an act of worship" (page 64). This is the primary reason we were created - to bring pleasure to God. We were made to worship. So take time to enjoy the next apple you bite into. Turn off the TV and go to the park with your kids. Meet with your small group on a regular basis. Play with your dog. Get away with your spouse. Exercise. Eat right. Make time to be alone with God. Pray. Read. With every choice you make, ask yourself, "will this please God?"
Enjoy life. Honor God. This is worship. And when Sunday morning rolls back around, get out of bed, come back to the church building and get worship "kicked-off" all over again. Worship is not part of life...it is life.
